St. Joseph Spring Fair has become THE anticipated event in Ponchatoula every spring. 
Children look forward to the rides, the games, the food, and a fun time with their friends. 
Come to think of it, so do adults!

This year, in an effort to let you all know how much we appreciate your patronage, we have various bands lined up to add to the fun and fellowship. They will appear on stage to entertain all.

We are pleased to announce Gold Star Amusements continues as our ride company. 
Of course, we will have Pay One Price (P.O.P.)  ride times on all three days. 
We will also continue a whole weekend P.O.P.!

Check out our dinner and grill items while at the fair. 
In addition to our Silent Auction and Cherry Bells, we still have our popular games and prizes!

Mark your calendars for the weekend of May 1-2-3.
 We encourage you to bring your family, friends, and neighbors 
for a most enjoyable weekend of fun, music, food, and fellowship.

Band Tickets

You can purchase advance tickets for the Saturday bands via Brown Paper Tickets. Click on the link and it will take you to the website. The Spring Fair has a Facebook page. Check out SJS Spring Fair on Facebook. We will keep you up to date on anything fair.

Sign up for volunteers will be done via SIGN UP GENIUS.. 

On this website are listed the days and time slots available for the fair. Under each time slot are the booths that need help. Each booth has a little description of how the booth works and how many people it needs to function properly. 

The website is first come, first served, so early sign up is encouraged.

The time slots will be listed by grades, but we'll take volunteers wherever slots are available.

Registration deadline is Friday, April 24, 2015.

Contestants are to bring their own supplies and ingredients. 
Each entry is limiited to 5 pounds of rice plus ingredients. 

Contestants will be contacted with details prior to the fair.

You may turn in the JAMBALAYA REGISTRATION to the school office to register.

Shirts sell for $13 each.

All t-shirts must be pre-ordered and all orders are final.

Deadline for orders is March 6, 2015.

 Students may wear the t-shirts on every Friday in April. 

Class Baskets & Silent Auction

The St. Joseph Spring Fair is coming up fast. The Silent Auction was a huge success last year due to generous donations. We feel this year will be great as well. 

The basket themes have been chosen for each grade. We ask that everyone please bring in something to complete the basket for your class. If you would prefer, a monetary donation can be sent which will purchase items for the class basket. Please label the donation with student name, grade, and "Silent Auction".

We will be collecting the items in the morning carpool from April 13-April 17. If your child rides the bus, please send it with him/her, and we will collect it before morning assembly. If you know of a business that would be willing to donate something toward any of the basket themes, please let us know. We will call/visit them or they can email us anytime if preferred.

This year we are holding two separate raffles. 

The first is the $1000 raffle, and the second is a custom LSU golf cart.

$1000 Raffle
Included in the packet that was sent home were 10 blue raffle tickets. These tickets are for the $1000 raffle. Each ticket costs $1.00 to purchase. We will be having a contest for the students who sell the most $1000 raffle tickets. 
First place will receive an all-weekend ride pass plus twelve cans of silly string and twelve confetti eggs. 
Second place will receive an all-weekend ride pass plus six cans of silly string and six confetti eggs. 

Please have all tickets and money turned in by April 24 in order to be considered for this contest.

Golf Cart Raffle
Also included in the packet were 10 yellow raffle tickets. These tickets are for the custom LSU golf cart. Each ticket costs $5.00 to purchase.



The support of local business has always made a huge impact on the education of the children of St. Joseph Catholic School. This year is no exception. With the help of local businesses, we can continue to offer quality programs with high academic standards, purchase classroom technology, and improve our classrooms. 

We rely on the support of our sponsorships from businesses as well as individuals to make our Spring Fair successful. Our community will be made aware of your support. We will have recognition in our church bulletin and school newsletter. Sponsors at the silver level and above will be recognized on the Lamar digital billboard in Hammond and signage will be placed on the school campus.

Please consider sharing this letter with your employer or any business that might support our fair.

Confetti Eggs

St. Joseph School is now taking donations of eggshells to be used in the confetti egg booth.

To easily clean eggs:
     1. Poke a hole in the top of the egg with a knife.
     2. Peel a small amount of the top of the shell (about the size of a nickel).
     3. Pour out the egg.
     4. Rinse well and air dry.

Please bring your eggshells to school. Mrs. Curtis will collect them during morning assembly. Do not give them to the office or your homeroom teacher. Label your carton with your name and grade.

Each student who brings in two cartons of eggshells will receive a popsicle.

Sweets Booth

In hopes to increase revenue, it was decided to make a few changes to the Sweets Booth at the Fair this year.

5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Run


Date: Saturday, May 2, 2015

Location: St. Joseph Catholic School, Ponchatoula, LA

1 mile fun run 8:30 a.m.
5K run at 9:00 a.m.

Course: Both the 1 mile and the 5K will be held in the vincinity of St. Joseph Catholic School

Water Station: 1 water station along the 5K route

T-Shirts: Guaranteed to runners who pre-register by April 3, 2015

Medals for all children 14 and under for the 1 mile fun run.
Awards for top male and top female as well as the following age groups for the 5K:
     15-22           23-30          31-39          40-50          50+

Race Day Registrations: Starts at 7:30 a.m. and will end at 8:15 a.m. for the 1 mile and 8:45 a.m. for the 5K

Race Packet Pickup: Available at Perfectly Fit Performance Sports on April 30, 2015, between noon and 6:00 p.m. Race packets, t-shirts and store specials for race participants will be available at that time.

The St. Joseph 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will benefit students of St. Joseph Catholic School.

Vendor/Craft Show

St. Joseph Catholic School is excited to announced we are including a vendor/craft show as part of the annual Spring Fair.

We are offering an opportunity to display local vendors during our Spring Fair event for a fee of $50 (or $25 fee and a $25 donation to our silent auction) for a 10x10 outdoor space for both Saturday and Sunday.

Vendors will be responsible for providing their own tables and chairs to set up their space/products.

We will be accepting one vendor of each company (direct sales) although clothing items and some handmade crafts may be duplicated for this event. We would love to have local business owners so that we can highlight what we have to offer right here in our local area.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the APPLICATION and return it along with your fee to:

Vendors will be accepted on a first come basis and no spot is held until payment is made. Checks can be made out to St. Joseph Home & School. The cutoff date for vendor applications will be April 1, 2015 or when spots are full.

Holey Board Tournament

The SJS Spring Fair Holey Board Tournament will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 on the fair grounds.

Registration for the tournament can be done by filling out the ENTRY FORM and returning it to SJS. There will also be a sign-up sheet located in the hospitality booth at the fair. The deadline for signing up is Sunday, May 3, at 1:00 p.m. 

The tournament will promptly begin at 2:00 p.m. with the doubles tournament starting first. As soon as the doubles are finished, the singles will begin. 

Please watch brackets as to when your game is to be played. Your name will be called twice. If you do not show after the second call, you will forfeit your game. This will help the tournament go smoothly and quickly. 

The championship games for both singles and doubles will be played on the stage for all to see. 

Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
