From the Principal
Dear Parents,After the morning assembly in the gym next Tuesday, September 23rd, Father Kauchak will perform the Rite of Blessing for the new building. Parents are invited to attend the ceremony. The building itself has certainly been a blessing for students and staff. It has proven to be most useful and important to the school’s academic program.
To a completely different issue, the cafeteria manager, Ms. Klein, has been informed that school children will not be charged for lunch or breakfast for a two week period because of the hurricane. There is some confusion as to the exact days to be credited. We know that Tuesday through Friday of this week is included. There is some lack of clarity as to whether the second week for free lunches and breakfasts will be next week or if parents who paid for last week will have their accounts credited.
Finally, I encourage you to keep the date of October 2nd free next month. That is the date of the Home and School Meeting. I believe that there is always important information disseminated and those who are not present miss out on information

Notes from Cory
Forgotten Lunch PartsIf lunches, juice, water, etc. are forgotten at home, students are to purchase from the cafeteria or drink water from the fountain.
Far too much disruption of academic time happens when calls must be made to the classrooms and students leave class to retrieve forgotten items from the office.
Transportation Changes
Transportation changes need to be called in to the office PRIOR to 1:00 p.m.
Things in the office get much too hectic at the end of the day to ensure that students get the message of how they get home.
Students should know how they are to go home BEFORE they get to school in the morning.
Tardy/Early Checkout
Please remember that arriving tardy to school and checking out early adds up to absences this year. Three times tardy or three early check outs during a quarter adds up to a full day’s absence. A long carpool line is not a good reason for early checkout.
Excuses
It is expected that parents will send an excuse when their student returns to school following an absence.
Appreciation
Thank you so much for your cooperation in these matters. We want the office to run as smoothly as possible for the safety and benefit of all students. Your help is very much appreciated.
Cross Country
Uniforms.
Coaches are asking every athlete who ran Cross Country or Track last year to please return his or her uniform to the school office as soon as possible so that this year’s team will be properly attired as they represent St. Joseph School.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Students may wear their Fall Fest T-Shirts with Spirit Dress on every Friday in October.
Cafeteria
If a child brings a lunch to school, please make sure that they are able to open every item without adult assistance.Teachers trying to supervise classes in the lunchroom do not have time to get to every child who needs assistance.
Thank you for your consideration.
