From the Principal

Dear Parents,

Fr. Kauchak blessed the new building Tuesday morning after the assembly in the presence of the students who listened attentively. The building has served us well since the students and faculty began to use it shortly after the start of the school year..

As I indicated before, it has enabled us along with some scheduling changes to increase significantly the contact time in the classroom between student and teacher. We expect that will impact the achievement test scores that students take in the spring.

Please remember the Home and School Meeting next Thursday, October 2. The officers of the Home and School have worked hard to introduce new activities to the parents.

The Fall Fest for the students was a great success last year and will be held again on October 24.
On this Friday, September 26, the Home and School invites all families to the Gym for family night. Families will have a chance to mingle and watch a movie with their kids. Popcorn and drinks will be available. All free of charge sponsored by your Home and School.

A bag lunch will be served or students need to bring a lunch.

Friday, October 3, is a holiday for students in the Tangipahoa Parish School System. St. Joseph students WILL have classes on October 3.

No buses will run at all on October 3. All SJS students will be carpool.

The carpool will run on both sides of the building both in the morning as well as the afternoon.

Communication Center Blessing

Father Kauchack explains the blessing to the younger students.

Hurricane Make Up Days

As a convenience for our parents, St. Joseph School will follow the same schedule as Tangipahoa Parish School System for hurricane make up days.

Rather than add days to the calendar, 15 minutes will be added to the school days beginning October 16 and ending March 31.

After this period, we will return to the usual school hours.

Bus schedules will be altered in the afternoons to fit this new time frame.

Entry forms and contest rules are available in the SJS office.

Addressing the Little Ones

Father Kauchak pauses during the blessing of the new buildings to give a detailed explanation to the students of the significance of the morning's blessing and the importance of education in their lives.

St. Paul Quote of the Week

Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
