From the Principal

Dear Parents,

The school is looking forward to the celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadeloupe on Friday. Mass will be at 8:30. Brother Raymond will give a bilingual sermon. There will be Mariachis and Mexican dancers. After the celebration, there will be a Mexican dessert served to the children in the gym. I believe everyone will enjoy the morning and the children will see a definite cultural event. Fr. John has made all the arrangements and Mi Patio Restaurant is providing the refreshments.

Just a reminder - there is still some time to make a Christmas offering for the Dominican Father. Father Kauchak and Father John serve the school in so many ways. They say Mass, preach to the students, hear their confessions, prepare them for First Communion, and visit classrooms. They are always available when we ask them to be present for some activity. In addition, through the leadership of Father Kauchak, the school is a primary mission of the parish and receives significant support throughout the school year. The Christmas Season is the time to recognize those that do for us. Anyone who wishes to make a monetary gift to the fathers for their service may send it to the office and mark it as such and we will make a presentation to the good fathers at the Christmas Mass before we leave for the Holiday break.

Thank you.

—Dr. Gerard Toups

Advent Giving Program

As a traditional part of our Christmas preparation and in the true spirit of Christmas, St. Joseph School will again be joining efforts with our Church parish to provide Christmas toys for children in need.

The Santa Bear program works in conjunction with the Daily Star newspaper and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department.

All students who wish to participate are asked to bring an unwrapped toy to school by Friday, December 12.

No toy guns, bows and arrows, or any other toy that indicates violence will be accepted. Thanks in advance for your generosity.
