From the Principal
Dear Parents,Monday I met with Brother Augustine at the Baton Rouge Diocese to review the Report of the Visiting Committee for the School Evaluation Report. The Diocese makes a visitation to the schools every five years as part of the state requirements for the approval status which allows us to receive services provided to private schools through the state of Louisiana and Federal Programs.
Included in the support are busing, lunch subsidies, a textbook allowance, and other programs that support the school.
Brother was most complimentary of the school and the progress we are making. Most of the report simply concurred with the Needs for Improvement as outlined by the faculty report.
The school also received numerous commendations from the Visiting Committee. As the report reads, there is much to be done, but much has been accomplished.
With the support of the St. Joseph School and Church Communities; the faculty, staff and administration look forward to serving the families that choose St. Joseph better each year.
This week we are giving the Terra Nova Achievement Tests. It is important that students get rest, arrive to school on time, and have a good breakfast.
Remember that next week is Holy Week. The schedule for services at St. Joseph Church is in the Crusader Connection.

Strawberry Festival Parking
This year the Strawberry Festival is April 3-4-5. As many of you know, St. Joseph School parks cars for the Strawberry Festival. This is a major fund raiser for the school. Last year parking was a huge financial success. We parked close to 1800 cars in two days. That success was due to the volunteers. We are again asking for volunteers for this year’s event. Please see the attached flyer for days and times. You can also e-mail Jeff Schmitt at j2ads@bellsouth.net or contact him at 985-320-7711 to sign up or for details.
We had a great Spring Fest, so let’s keep that momentum going for the Strawberry Festival Parking!
