Psalm 118
R This is the day the Lord has made; leet us rejoice and be glad!Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his mercy endures forever.
Let the house of Israel say,
"His mercy endures forever." R
"The right hand of the Lord has struck with power;
the right hand of the Lord is exalted.
I shall not die, but live,
and declare the works of the Lord." R
The stone which the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
By the Lord has this been done;
it is wonderful in our eyes. R

In the picture - The SJS Figure Skating Team - Corey Raiford, Austin Henderson, and Jacob Wright show their skills at the Galleria ice skating rink in Houston.Dear Parents:
I hope you had a wonderful Easter.
The Fair proceeds are not final, but, in spite of the poor weather, the net should be in excess of $30,000. We should have exact figures for you next week. Strawberry Fest Parking is still in need of workers. Please help with this project. The need to be successful is greater than ever since the Fair suffered from the weather.
Improvements are being scheduled for next school year. I will be meeting with the contractor this week to arrange concreting of the parking area along the street between the new building and the gymnasium which has been a problem since the building was completed. That work might not get completed until the summer but it is now in process. Additionally, it is our expectation that we will install Starboards in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade classrooms over the summer. Finally, we are examining an art program for next school year but that is in the preliminary stages.
The eighth graders are having a great time on their trip. They spent yesterday in Houston and today they are in Austin. Thursday and Friday are in San Antonio. See the pictures on the website.

Prayer for Priests
The Year for Priests 2009-2010Dear Lord,
We pray that the Blessed Mother wrap her mantle around Your priests and through her intercession strengthen them for their ministry.
We pray that Mary will guide Your priests to follow her own words,
"Do whatever He tells you." (Jn 2:5)
May Your priests have the heart of St. Joseph, Mary's most chaste spouse.
May the Blessed Mother's own pierced heart inspire them to embrace all who suffer at the foot of the cross.
May Your priests be holy, filled with the fire of Your love, seeking nothing but Your greater glory and the salvation of souls.
Amen
St. John Vianney, pray for us
