Psalm 21:2-3,4-5,6-7
R. Lord, in your strength the king is glad.O LORD, in your strength the king is glad;
in your victory how greatly he rejoices!
You have granted him his heart's desire;
you refused not the wish of his lips.
R. Lord, in your strength the king is glad.
For you welcomed him with goodly blessings,
you placed on his head a crown of pure gold.
He asked life of you: you gave him
length of days forever and ever.
R. Lord, in your strength the king is glad.
Great is his glory in your victory;
majesty and splendor you conferred upon him.
You made him a blessing forever,
you gladdened him with the joy of your face.
R. Lord, in your strength the king is glad.
From the Principal
Dear Parents:The school year started in a very smooth manner. We had a very satisfying meeting with the pre-k and kindergarten parents last week. Tuesday night, the first through fourth grade teachers met with parents to orient them to the new school year. On Thursday, the Back-to-School Night for the upper grades will be follow the first Home and School Meeting at 6:30. We expect to see everyone at the first meeting.
It is most important that all the students begin the school year in a manner that will assure their success, so please check on your children to see that they have everything they need and that they are preparing themselves each evening for the next school day. One day builds on another, and each new school year offers a new beginning.
I bring the following to everyone’s attention because at times this becomes an issue with some students. State law is very specific in terms of the time number of days students must be in school, the number of days school must be in session, the length of the school day, and the length of time students are to spend in each subject. I ask again that parents be very attentive to school attendance. Plan vacations when school is not in session. Do not keep students home for minor complaints.
For those of you who shop at Winn-Dixie, we thank you for registering your cards in the name of the school. St. Joseph received $1800.00 (the maximum) for each of the last two quarters. We should all be grateful to Winn-Dixie for their Community Pals Program.
