Psalm 145::2-3, 10-11, 12-13

R. The Lord is compassionate toward all his works.

Every day will I bless you,
and I will praise your name forever and ever.
Great is the LORD and highly to be praised;
his greatness is unsearchable.

R. The Lord is compassionate toward all his works.

Let all your works give you thanks, O LORD,
and let your faithful ones bless you.
Let them discourse of the glory of your Kingdom
and speak of your might.

R. The Lord is compassionate toward all his works.

Making known to men your might
and the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.
Your Kingdom is a Kingdom for all ages,
and your dominion endures through all generations.

R. The Lord is compassionate toward all his works.

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

I know that everyone was shut in this past weekend, but we praise the Lord for our safe return to school and His blessing us with this beautiful weather.

Thanks to the hard work of our teachers and the cooperation of our parents, the carpool line has improved. The last cars went though the line at 3:00 on Tuesday. The teachers are working hard to make dismissal as efficient as possible. Please be patient and courteous; we are doing our best. Again, I ask that you consider letting your children use the buses. As taxpayers, you pay for those services.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Magazine Sale. Parents will be informed when the final tabulations are made.

Today, the school received a check for $359.70 from Target. If a parent of grandparent uses the Target Red Card to pay for merchandise, that person can indicate a school as a recipient of 1% of the purchase. Target has been doing this for years but the checks have been minimal until the store opened in Hammond. If you shop at Target and use the Red Visa Card as I do, please designate St. Joseph as the recipient of the 1% donation, and the check we receive each September will continue to grow.

Finally, on behalf of the teachers, a huge thank you is sent to the pre-kindergarten parents for the treats on Tuesday. Your kindness is most appreciated.

Papa John's Pizza SJS Night

Once again, Papa John's Pizza will hold a special night for SJS families!

If you order dinner from Papa John's Pizza on Tuesday, September 13, and mention the school and your teacher's name when ordering, Papa John's will donate 20% of the order price to St. Joseph School.

The homeroom of the teacher with the highest total will receive a pizza party from Papa John's.

Last year, SJS had the highest total for the entire year, far surpassing the second place winner. Please come on Tuesday, enjoy pizza, and have the school benefit from your order.

Thanks to all for school spirit and support!

Picture Day

Coming Thursday, September 15!

Barberito Photographers will be taking individual school pictures on Thursday, September 15. Students are to wear regular uniforms on that day.

This is a pre-pay program. A brochure with package prices were distributed today. Each student will have his/her picture taken, but picture packages will only be produced for children who have paid on that day.

MidQuarter

Wednesday, September 14, is the midway point of the first quarter. It's hard to believe we're there already. Please be sure to check Edline on that date in order to follow your child's progress to this point.

Students with a low average in a particular subject will receive a progress report which is to be signed and returned.

Fall Fest T-Shirt Order Form

Enclosed with today's packet (or available by clicking on the link below) is an order form for the Fall Fest T-Shirt.

Students ordering t-shirts may wear them each Friday during the month of October with their blue jeans, crew socks, and uniform shoes.

Youth sizes are $12 each. Adult sizes are $14 each.

Please send the form with payment to the office by Thursday, September 22.
