Psalm 137:1-2, 3, 4-5, 6
R. Let my tongue be silenced if I ever forget you!By the streams of Babylon
we sat and wept
when we remembered Zion.
On the aspens of that land
we hung up our harps.
R. Let my tongue be silenced if I ever forget you!
Though there our captors asked of us
the lyrics of our songs,
And our despoilers urged us to be joyous:
"Sing for us the songs of Zion!"
R. Let my tongue be silenced if I ever forget you!
How could we sing a song of the LORD
in a foreign land?
If I forget you, Jerusalem,
may my right hand be forgotten!
R. Let my tongue be silenced if I ever forget you!
May my tongue cleave to my palate
if I remember you not,
If I place not Jerusalem
ahead of my joy.
R. Let my tongue be silenced if I ever forget you!
From the Principal
Dear Parents,Last month’s Papa John’s Pizza was a great success netting the school over $300.00. We will do this monthly and ask for your support. Our next Papa John's Day is Tuesday, October 4.
The flyer that came home today regarding the Saints' raffle has the potential to bring a substantial amount of money to the school. Next week each child will come home with raffle tickets. This raffle is completely sponsored by parents in the school. We are asking that you support their effort. Whoever wins the raffle will have a great seat for a very important Saints' game. Also the parents have obtained some great Saints' prizes for the three students who are the top sellers. Thank you in advance for your support.
Mr. Tommy and Mr. Joe are doing work to make the playground nicer for the children. A huge load of bark is on the way which will enhance the playground substantially. In the fall, trees will be planted that will eventually provide shade for the kids. There are also renovations being made to one of the classrooms in the main building. That effort will continue as the school year continues.

September Crusaders
Each month from September through April, St. Joseph School names a Crusader and a Mini Crusader of the Month. Students are nominated by faculty, other students, and the community. A selection committee reviews the nominations and names Crusaders for that month.Crusaders of the Month are students who explemplify by their words and deeds what it means to be true Crusaders. They display a love of God and a devotion to His work. They show obvious concern for peers, family, and friends and participate in school life with zeal and enthusiasm. They stand up for causes or situation when they know it is right. They are leaders, not followers. The Crusaders show hnesty and integrity, rspect for authority, and a willingness to give service to others.
Students chosen as Cruaders of the Month are honored with the announcement at an all-school Mass. They are given a certificate, a gift basket, and a Crusader t-shirt. Their picture is taken and made into a poster which hangs in the school office. They are honored with their picture on the school website and in The Crusader Connection. At the end of the school year, all Crusaders of the Month are taken out to lunch by the Principal and the Religion Coordinator.
We are proud to announce Emily Ransom, seventh grade, as our Crusader of the Month and Annabelle Rodrigue, second grade, as our Mini Cruasder for September.

SJS/Papa John's Pizza Night!
Once again, Papa John's Pizza will hold a special night for SJS families! If you order dinner from Papa John's Pizza on Tuesday, October 4, and mention the school and your teacher's name when ordering, Papa John's will donate 20% of the order price to St. Joseph School.
The homeroom of the teacher with the highest total will receive a pizza party from Papa John's.
