Psalm 86:3-4, 5-6, 9-10

R. Lord, you are merciful and gracious.

Have mercy on me, O Lord,
for to you I call all the day.
Gladden the soul of your servant,
for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

R. Lord, you are merciful and gracious.

For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in kindness to all who call upon you.
Hearken, O LORD, to my prayer
and attend to the sound of my pleading.

R. Lord, you are merciful and gracious.

All the nations you have made shall come
and worship you, O Lord,
and glorify your name.
For you are great, and you do wondrous deeds;
you alone are God.

R. Lord, you are merciful and gracious.

From the Principal

Dear Parents:

This week every family will be receiving a packet of ten tickets valued at $5.00 apiece for chances to win Saint’s Football Game Tickets to the November 28th game versus the New York Giants. This could well be an extremely important match up by that time in the season. Of course, the starting quarterback for the Giants is New Orleans' own Eli Manning. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN. This is a Monday night game. The seats are Club Seats valued at $150.00 apiece. There are excellent prizes for the students who sell the most tickets including a picture autographed by Drew Brees, a Lance Moore autographed jersey, and a Jon Vilma autographed mini helmet. Please make every effort to sell the tickets. These should be prized by anyone who is a Saints fan. All proceeds will go to benefit the students at St. Joseph.

In be half of the entire school community, we thank Smith’s Nursery for their generous donation of the sod recently laid in the front of the school.

Congratulations to Emily Ransom for winning the Seventh Grade Division of the Spelling Bee at the Tangipahoa Parish Fair. Thanks to fifth grader Scott Jacobs and third grader Preston Davidson for representing the school at the Fair.

Finally, all are invited to the dedication of the St. Joseph Parish Hall which will take place after the 10:30 Mass on Sunday. There will be refreshments served after the dedication including jambalaya hot dogs.

The raffle tickets were sent home today, October 5.

The turn-in date for tickets and all money is November 10.

The prizes for the top three sellers are:

1st place - 8x10 autographed picture of Drew Brees
2nd place - Lance Moore autographed Saints jersey
3rd prize - Jon Vilma autographed mini helmet.

In addition to these individual prizes, we will be awarding a pizza party to the classes that sell the most tickets.

If you'd like to sell more tickets than what is sent home, please contact the school office.

Attorney General Presentation

The Office of the Attorney General for the State of Louisiana will be on campus Thursday, October 13, to make presentations to both students and parents.

The student presentation will be for grades 6-7-8. It will be held during the school day.

The parent presentation will be at 7:00 p.m. in the school gym. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed at the parent presentation. The program will be given by the AG's high tech crime unit. It will cover internet safety in the areas of child predators, sexting, and other related topics. The presentation will also discuss how FaceBook and other social media are sometimes used in ways which endanger our children.

We hope a large number of our parents turn out to hear this important presentation on such a pertinent topic.
