Psalm 66
Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.
O God, be gracious and bless us
and let your face shed its light upon us.
So will your ways be known upon earth
and all nations learn your saving help.
Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.
Let the nations be glad and exult
for you rule the world with justice.
With fairness you rule the peoples,
you guide the nations on earth.
Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you.
May God still give us his blessing
till the ends of the earth revere him.
Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.
From the Principal
Dear Parents:Fantastic!
The school was notified this week that Katelyn McKneeley placed first English I in Division V at the State Literary Rally at LSU. Katelyn competed with students from all over the state, most of whom were high school freshmen. We are all extremely proud of Katelyn’s accomplishment and congratulate her English teacher Mrs. Carroll for her work in the English I class.
Last night a large and enthusiastic crowd shared an excellent meal at the Sport Awards Ceremony. Of note were the undefeated Girls Junior Basketball Team that went 14-0 and won the NIAL Championship and the Girls Senior Softball who beat Holy Ghost by the ten run rule in the NIAL Championship and repeated as NIAL champs. Eighth graders Emily Waddell and Jeb Kraft were awarded Athlete of the Year. We thank Mrs. Thomas, our Athletic Director, for her fine work. We thank the parents for their support of the program, and we offer a special thanks to the coaches for their commitment and dedication. Thanks to Dennis Pevey for the bar-b-q chicken. The program ended with the recognition of Mr. Dennis Hebert who fifty years ago was responsible for the beginnings of the sports programs in St. Joseph School and the town of Ponchatoula.

Dear Math-a-thon Participants and Parents,Thank you so much for participating in the Math-a-thon last school year. Together we donated over $4500 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The students did an outstanding job completing the activity books and collecting donations. We are happy to see the students receive their rewards from all their hard work in today’s Wednesday packet.
This Friday, May 4, at morning assembly, we will announce the grand total of our donation and present a small plaque to be displayed in the school. The students who participated may wear their Math-a-thon t-shirts with the rest of the regular spirit dress uniform in celebration of our success.
We are so proud of our students for taking this opportunity to serve others as Christ would.
Sincerely,
Jeri Carroll
