Psalm 87
R. Let my prayer come into your presence, O Lord.I call to you, Lord, all the day long;
to you I stretch out my hands.
Will you work your wonders for the dead?
Will the shades stand and praise you?
R. Let my prayer come into your presence, O Lord.
Will your love be told in the grave
or your faithfulness among the dead?
Will your wonders be known in the dark
or your justice in the land of oblivion?
R. Let my prayer come into your presence, O Lord.
As for me, Lord, I call to you for help:
in the morning my prayer comes before you.
Lord, why do you reject me?
Why do you hide your face?
R. Let my prayer come into your presence, O Lord.
From the Principal
Dear Parents,Last Thursday I was flipping through the channels and found that the St. Thomas Aquinas - Loranger football game was being televised by CST. Our own grad, Luke Bleakley, was quarterbacking the Falcons. Then on Saturday morning, I was perusing the high school sports results and noticed that Zack Barrient, another of our graduates, quarterbacked the Mandeville Skippers. Finally, I read that the Ponchatoula Green Wave had won again and that Austin Henderson, yet another SJS alum, was the hero and quarterback of the team. I thought it was rather remarkable that on the same weekend, three local high school teams were led at the quarterback position by graduates of St. Joseph School. We wish them success along with all who participate in activities at the local high schools.
Please support the football ticket sales for the Home and School. Plans are in the making to improve the campus with the funds. The Dad’s Club, with some help from the church, is planning to clean up the area behind the cafeteria. I am sure that all of you noticed the horrible flooding that took place at dismissal last Friday. That was caused in large part by a collapsed drainage culvert that runs under the cement pad behind the cafeteria. The garbage trucks destroyed the cement driveway and drove the pavement into the culvert. It is our intention to address that issue and place a privacy fence around the area. This is a necessary project, and we should receive significant help from the church.
There is also a movement to construct a storage unit for fair and school use. The effort will be to rid ourselves of the containers decorating the baseball field and reclaim that area for the students. Encircling the entire campus with a fence is also a goal.
When we work together in this way, our children always benefit.

No buses will run due to the public school holiday. All SJS students will be carpool.
Because of this rare situation, carpool will run on both sides of the main building both morning and afternoon.
Early afternoon dismissal for preK and K students will remain the same.
For those unfamiliar with carpool line, the carpool plan can be found at CARPOOL. Carpool etiquette guidelines can be found at CAR RIDERS.Please scroll to the bottom of this page.
This type of carpool is not a routine for our students. Because so many students will be moving and so many parents will be waiting, please follow all instructions given by the personnel on duty.
If everyone is patient, courteous, and follows directions, carpool will run smoothly and, most importantly, safely.

They've studied firemen, medical professionals, policemen, and many other services offered in a community like Ponchatoula. The activitiy was completed as the students made and modeled their policemen hats. More pictures of the PreK police force can be seen In the PHOTO ALBUMS.Community News
