Psalm 110

R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

The LORD said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand
till I make your enemies your footstool.”

R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

The scepter of your power the LORD will stretch forth from Zion:
“Rule in the midst of your enemies.”

R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

“Yours is princely power in the day of your birth, in holy splendor;
before the daystar, like the dew, I have begotten you.”

R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

The LORD has sworn, and he will not repent:
“You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”

R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.

From the Principal

Dear Parents:

The school staff is making a concerted effort to help parents get into the gym for the morning arrival. It is the hope that opening the gates along 8th Street after the last bus has passed will work to shorten the stay in line and alleviate the ongoing issue of students being tardy for the start of the day.

If at all possible, when you are shuttled through the 8th Street route, please make an effort to have students exit the car on the driver’s side. That may not always be possible, but it is a matter of safety so the students do not have to cross in front of cars to reach the gymnasium. Safety has always been an issue because students generally exit the passenger side with our traditional arrival. Instruct your children to wait for an adult to help them cross the street to the gym. As we have grown in both enrollment and in personnel, we will have adults assisting with the arrival to assure the safety of the children.

Also, please do not delay leaving your home thinking that you can arrive later at school now that we have a second route for arrival. It is expected that this new procedure will assure that all students are in the gym in a timely fashion. All gates will be closed at 7:35. Students arriving after the gates are closed will be considered tardy, and parents will have to come into the office to check them into school.

Once again, the school encourages parents to use the public school bus system which services St. Joseph well. That would do most to remedy any delays in arrival. Riding the buses would also accelerate dismissal.

Please be attentive to the material coming home this date to enroll your children for the 2013-2014 school session. Packets must be returned by February 1st. Enrollments in some grades may be limited, so please cooperate and return the forms with the registration by February 1. Late registrations do incur an extra fee.
