Psalm 82

R. Rise up, O God, bring judgment to the earth.

Defend the lowly and the fatherless;
render justice to the afflicted and the destitute.
Rescue the lowly and the poor;
from the hand of the wicked deliver them.

R. Rise up, O God, bring judgment to the earth.

I said: “You are gods,
all of you sons of the Most High;
yet like men you shall die,
and fall like any prince.”

R. Rise up, O God, bring judgment to the earth.

From the Principal

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends,

Monday the school had a very moving ceremony for Veterans Day. Students were invited to bring their relatives and friends who were veterans to school for the occasion. Seventeen individuals representing each branch of the armed forces introduced themselves and indicated where and when they had served. Students witnessed and participated in an observance that included the singing of patriotic songs and the playing of taps. We thank Mrs. Gaines, Mrs. Lloyd, Mrs. Chiasson, and all who helped them to make the morning very special.

The students are looking forward to Grandparents’ Day this Friday. We will have a Prayer Service at 1:00 p.m. We ask grandparents assemble at the church. A schedule of events will be given to grandparents at the Prayer Service. Three photographers will be available for pictures. There will be a book fair. It is a hectic day, but it is simply an opportunity for the students to show their Grandparents where they spend a large part of their time.

Thanks for all those who were so generous with the Raffle for the Football tickets. The total profit for the raffle was $16,000.00. That money is being set aside for the renovation of the gymnasium. See the article below for a list of winners.

Grandparents' Day - Friday, November 15

On Friday, November 15, grandparents of students at St. Joseph are invited to visit campus
.
This event is open to all students in the school. If grandparents are unavailable for any reason, students are welcome to invite a Special Visitor (aunt, uncle, parent, godparent, special family friend, etc.) as a substitute.

It is not required that every student have a grandparent, special visitor at school that day.

If your student does have a grandparent/special visitor that day, the following procedure should be followed:

1. Grandparents/Special Visitors meet in church at 1:00. Guidelines for the day and handouts will be provided.
2. Grandparents/Special Visitors go to the classroom to pick up student(s) for the SJS visit.
3. ONE designated person (with photo ID) is to check out the student from the homeroom teacher. They are, at that point responsible, for the student.
4. The student and grandparent/special visitor may take part in the pictures, refreshments, book fair, school tour, etc.
5. The one designated person who checked out the student may either dismiss from school with that student or check them back in with the teacher for regular dismissal.
6. No student will be checked out to a person who has not been designated by the parent on the form sent home.

Grandparents' Day picture order forms were sent home last week.. If you would like for your child to take a picture with his/her grandparents, plese send payment with the order form with your child on Grandparents' Day to give to the photographer. These forms/money will NOT be collected by the teachers. Each student/grandparent will be responsible to give the photographer the order. This simple step will make the picture line go much faster. Thank you for your help.

No ASC - Friday, November 15

There will be no After School Care available on Grandparents' Day, Friday, November 15.
