1st Quarter AR Reward

Readers, show your character!

Students in 1st-8th grades who obtained their AR goal during 1st quarter are allowed to dress up as their favorite book, movie, TV, etc. character on Friday, October 30.

Costumes must adhere to the free dress code on the website and should not be scary or revealing.

Fall Fest

The annual SJS Fall Festival will be Friday, October 30th. This year Pre­K through 4th grade levels will attend Fall Fest at various times throughout the day. This will provide students with greater access to the games. The schedule is as follows:

Pre­K 9:00am – 10:00am

Kindergarten 10:15am – 11:15am

1 st & 2nd Grade 11:45am – 1:00pm

3 rd & 4 th Grade 1:00pm – 2:15pm

Students will only be allowed to attend at their designated time to ensure maximum play time for all students. All PreK­ 3rd grade students are asked to bring in one dozen of one of the following: ***** homemade treat (ex. brownies, cookies, cupcakes, rice crispy treats, muffins, etc.) ­ treats need to be individually wrapped. 4 th grade students are asked to bring one box of juice pouches

Please send in these items the week of the festival (October 26­29)

The 8th grade students will be hosting the games for the PreK­4th grade students who will be attending the festival. PreK­4th grade students will be at the festival playing games with prizes, face painting, and will enjoy several inflatables. Students will also receive several refreshments.


Fall Fest Information/Permission forms went home in the Wednesday packets with students in grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Please be sure to read the form and return the bottom portion back to school tomorrow, Thursday October 29th.

Sunday Mass

All Saints Day theme Parish Potluck following 11 am Mass in the Ministry Center. We will have saints themed crafts for the kids and encourage saints costumes. Please invite all parish families.

Veterans’ Day

Our St. Joseph family would like to cordially invite any family members who are veterans, to join us in a celebration of honor. Students will do a presentation in the school gym during our regular morning assembly on Wednesday, November 11, and we welcome our veterans. Morning assembly begins at 7:35 and our presentation will immediately follow morning prayer. Please join us!

BE A FALCON FOR A DAY!!! 7th and 8th graders are invited to come shadow a STA freshmen and find out what it is like to be a Falcon. Please call 985-542-8941 to schedule your students shadow day. We have days available from October 20th through December 4th.

Our group will receive the following:

Pelican Jersey---Each lower level ticket will receive a replica AD jersey at the game. Yes, every person in our group will receive a jersey!
Group Picture---Our entire group will be allowed on the floor after the game to take a group photo on the court with some of the Pelican dancers.
Jumbotron---Our group name will be posted on the Jumboton at halftime.
Halftime Fan Tunnel---20 people from our group will be allowed to go on the court to form a fan tunnel and high-five the Pelican players.
Special Rate---Special ticket rate of $35 per ticket. (Regular price is $70.)

LOWER LEVEL SEATS ARE ON THE FIRST LEVEL OF THE ARENA

Come experience a New Orleans Pelicans game with our St Joseph School Group. The game is during the holiday break, so the students don't have school that day. Our tickets will be together in a large group.

ORDER TICKETS ON RENWEB. Please send your check to the office in an envelope marked "Pelicans". Include your child's name and homeroom on your envelope.

Soccer Sign-Up
All students who signed up to play soccer were given a letter. All letters must be returned by this Friday, October 30th. Response from these letters will determine the feasibility for the boys' and girls' soccer teams for this school year.

Silly Sweater Run

St. Joseph’s Silly Sweater

5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Run

St Joseph will host it's first Silly Sweater Run on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Please come dressed in your silliest Christmas sweater. We will have a prize for the silliest sweater worn. Both the 1 mile and the 5K will be held in the vicinity of St. Joseph Catholic School. There will be 1 water station along the 5K route. Tshirt will be guaranteed to runners who pre-registered by November 30. The St. Joseph 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will benefit students of St. Joseph Catholic School.   • October 31st (Saturday) First Reconciliation for our second graders will take place on Saturday.

  • November 1st (Sunday) Daylight savings time, don't forget to adjust your clocks.

  • November 9th-13th Students will be taking their standardized test, the ACT Aspire.

  • November 11th (Wednesday) Mid quarter of the second nine weeks

  • November 17th (Tuesday) November Birthdays

  • November 23rd-27th THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS
