Adopt a family

SJS Crusader Dads will be adopting families in need again this year. We are adopting 10 families and would love for each class to participate. Below you will see the “captain” for each class. Please email or call them if you would like to participate and they will give you more instructions on the family’s needs . Everyone will be invited to meet at SJS on Christmas Eve @ 9:00am to help distribute the gifts to the families. If you can’t make it to help distribute you can still give a gift. Last year was a huge success so I’m really looking forward to this year!

Exam Schedule

As the second nine weeks comes to an end, our upper grades students are gearing up for their exams. Below is the exam schedule. Good luck to everyone!

MONDAY , DECEMBER 14 - 7th Period and 6th Period
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15 - 1st Period and 5th Period
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17 - 2nd Period and 3rd/4th Period

Silly Sweater Run

St Joseph will host it's first Silly Sweater Run on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Please come dressed in your silliest Christmas sweater. We will have a prize for the silliest sweater worn. Both the 1 mile and the 5K will be held in the vicinity of St. Joseph Catholic School. There will be 1 water station along the 5K route.

Date: Saturday, December 12, 2015
Location: St. Joseph Catholic School, Ponchatoula
Time: 1 mile Fun Run starts at 9:00 am and 5K Run starts at 9:30

Awards: We will have a prize for all children 14 & under for the 1 mile Fun Run. We will also have awards for top male & female as well as the following age groups for the 5K: 15-22, 23-30, 31-39, 40-50, 50+
Registration Location: St. Joseph School up until Race Day
Race Day Registration: will start at 8:15am and will end at 8:45am for the 1 mile and 9:15am for the 5K

Season of Giving

This is the time of year that we recognize those who serve us and we are asking each family for a small donation that will allow us to recognize Father McDuffie and Deacon Larry for their constant support of our school family. They celebrate Mass for the children and always have an excellent message. Fr. McDuffie oversees the school and supports our efforts to provide a faith filled experience for the students. Deacon Larry assists us with events such as the religion fair, Stations of the Cross, and the May crowning. Please send all donations in an envelope marked:

Talented Artist

Congratulations to 8th grader Paige Bankston for her artwork which was selected to be made into the school Christmas cards. Also, congratulations to 4th grade student Ava Downing for her artwork which was selected for a contest at the Office of Catholic Schools. Ava also had the honor of making an ornament that will hang on the Christmas tree in the Governor's Mansion. Congrats again to our talented artists.

Cross Country

Our Cross Country team had their Sports Banquet recently and runners and their family enjoyed a potluck dinner and certificates were given to all following awards were given:
