Grandparent's Day Form

SJS Grandparents' Day has been scheduled for Friday, September 30th beginning at 10:00 in the gym. This event is open to all students in the school. If grandparents are unavailable for any reason, students are welcome to invite a Special Visitor (aunt, uncle, parent, godparent etc) as a substitute.

A purple form went home in today's Wednesday packet. Please fill the form out and return it to your homeroom teacher by Wednesday, September 28th. Each student must return the form saying who they will be allowed to check out of school with that day.

Also, please make note that there we will NOT have buses or after school care the day of Grandparents Day.

We are looking forward to spending the day with our SJS Grandparents!

Water Bottles

Students may continue to bring water bottles to school. Please know that this is not mandatory or recommended by the city. Teachers will set reasonable parameters in the classrooms of appropriate times for students to have their water bottles out. Students will not be allowed to carry water bottles to enrichment or recess. They will have access to their water bottles when they return from these activities. It is our understanding that if students bring a water bottle from home, parents do not wish for students to drink water from our water fountains during the school day. For this reason, students who bring water bottles will not be allowed to refill the bottles while at school.

Morning Carpool Tardies

It is very important for students to be on time each morning. When needed the gates remain open and duty teachers allow children to enter the gym a couple of minutes after the bell in order to reduce the amount of assembly and class time that would be missed by checking in at the office, . The school day begins at 7:35 a.m. and students must be in their class line in the gym when the bell rings and we stand for prayer to be considered present and on time. Gates will be closed no later than 7:37 a.m. each morning and students will have to be checked in through the office after this time.
