Advisory Council

Advisory Council wants EVERYONE's feedback.

Dear Parents,

The Advisory Council of St. Joseph Catholic School has been discussing how we can increase parental involvement within the school. Over the past few months we have reviewed several Parental Involvement Programs or PIP but we need your assistance and input on the details of the proposed program for SJS. Please take 5 to 10 minutes to complete this survey. Your answers and comments are confidential and anonymous. We would like for you to follow the link below to answer the survey, but you are welcome to print the survey, write your answers, and return the printed survey in an envelope with your child if that is a better option for you.

All Saints Day

We will attend mass next week on Tuesday, November 1st, for All Saints Day.

Green Dinosaur Pancakes

The students enjoyed a visit from local author Kat Pigott and illustrator Mason Sibley. Mrs. Pigott read their new book, Green Dinosaur Pancakes, to all the students, and then Mason, a former SJS student, amazed the students with illustrations and pancake art.
Mason was excited to be back at SJS to share his talent with the students. He is currently a freshman at Springfield High School.
If anyone would still like to order an autographed copy of Green Dinosaur Pancakes, please send $12 in an envelope to school and we will send you a personalized copy.
Congratulations to Anthony St. Cyr who was the winner of the raffle donated by Mrs. Pigott and Mason.

DUKE Tips Testing

Congratulations to 7th grade students who qualified to take the Duke TIPS test.
They are (left to right) Rebekah Peltier, Hannah Habisreitinger, Annabelle Rodrigue, Rohan Patel, Ali Foster, Matthew Pellittieri, and McKaden Thompson.
Each year Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) registers eligible 7th grade students to take either the ACT or SAT as an above-level testing experience. This allows students to have greater insight into their abilities and a chance to preview the test they will take during the college admission process. Duke also provides students with valuable benefits and resources designed specifically for academically talented youth.
These students will take their ACT in February.
