Testing
ACT Aspire
Our 3rd – 8th grade students will take an interim ACT Aspire test next week. This test is taken periodically to inform teachers about instruction and the skills that have not been mastered at the time of testing. Scores for these assessments are not sent home and they do not impact a student’s grades. This test will be taken on our iPads. We will gather each grade level in the gym at various times. Testing will begin on Monday, September 18th, and will only take a few days for each grade
Emergency Drill
Emergency Drills
We will practice all types of emergency drills during the school year. These drills include fire, severe weather, and lockdown. Fire drills are practiced monthly. Severe weather and lockdown drills will be reviewed and practiced a minimum of twice a year. You will be notified when we practice our lockdown drill.
Notes from Home
Notes from Home
Please remember to send a note if your child will be checking out of school during the day for an appointment. This allows the office and teacher to be aware of this change and have students ready if their check-out time falls during lunch, recess, enrichment, or other activities that take them away from the classroom. Thank you for your help with this.

Word of The Week
Our Word of the Week is Patriotism
Bible Verse: " Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don't be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
Faith is our virtue/ word of focus for the month.
Mass
Mass - Please remember that we attend mass each Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. If a child has an appointment on Wednesday mornings, please send a note to the teacher so we can keep the student in the office when everyone goes to church
Cafeteria Reminder
Cafeteria Reminder - Lunches may be brought from home by students, but carbonated beverages are not allowed. Food brought from home should be healthy and not in fast food wrappers or containers. This includes lunches brought in by parents when eating lunch with student. Thank you for your help with these procedures.
Tithing
If the parent is a registered, financially supporting member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish, a tuition benefit is available to that parent. To qualify for tuition as a financially supporting parishioner, a family’s weekly contribution to St. Joseph Church should be a minimum of $8.00/week ($416 annually). These contributions are to be made in full by December 31, 2017. Contributions made after December 31, 2017 will not count toward tithing for 2017 and tuition rates will not be adjusted for the next school year (2018-2019). Regular use of the Sunday envelope is necessary as a sign of financial support of the Church.
