Circles of Care - Parents
It is required each year that the schools and churches of the Diocese offer parents information pertaining to creating safe environments for children. The Diocese provides these flyers for parents to review. The information on the flyer is set by the Office of Chiold and Youth Protection and changes each year.

Circles of Care-Students
It is required by the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People that all children enrolled in Catholic Schools and Parishes receive Safe Environment training. The Diocese of Baton Rouge provides such training called Circles of Care. This lesson will be taught to our
Pre-Kindergarten - 8th grade students on Monday, September 17, 2018. These lessons will be taught by their Religion teacher.
Parents may review their child’s lesson plan that will be taught in the classroom prior to this date by going to http://diobr.org/ministries/administrative-services/child-and-youth-protection then click on the lesson pertaining to your child’s grade level listed under Curriculum.
If you DO NOT want your child to receive this lesson, please click on form below. Complete, and return the 2018/2019 OPT OUT FORM to the school office in a marked envelope to the attention of Cory Pinion NO LATER THAN Thursday, September 13, 2018.

Please Read
Students WILL have school on October 5th. This will be a make up day for the storm day we missed September 5th. Once again, students do not have a day off in October for Professional Development. We will not have buses on October 5th and October 8th due to public schools being closed.
SINGING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM
St. Joseph Students are BLESSED to have an opportunity to sing the NATIONAL ANTHEM
at our SJS / NEW ORLEANS PELICANS basketball game.
Game date: 12/28/18
Permission forms with detailed information were sent home in the Wednesday packets.
St. Joseph School students interested in participating in this performance, please complete the permission form & return it to the school office by Friday, 9/21/18

Please return order form and full payment to school by Wednesday, September 19th.
Shirts will not be distributed unitl payment is received.
Students will be able to wear the fall fest t-shirts every Friday in October with spirit dress.

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Parent/Teacher Conferences for Kindergarten-2nd grades will be Monday, October 8th. Kindergarten - 2nd grade students do NOT have school on this day. Sign up information regarding the conferences will be given to these parents next week.
Grandparent's Day at St. Joseph School

Schedule:
10:00 - 10:30 - Welcome , prayer, entertainment in the gym
10:30 - 10:45 - Classroom Visits
10:45 - 12:30 - PICNIC LUNCH, pictures , and Book Fair gift cards
- We will have multiple areas for grandparents to picnic with their grandchildren. Feel free to bring "picnic supplies" such as blankets, chairs, basekt/tote, etc. to picnic anywhere on the school grounds. We will also have some tables and chairs set up under a large tent around campus, and the use of the cafeteria if needed for seating.
- Please see available lunch items below. To place your order for lunch, please fill out the from below and return to school along with your cash/check made payable to St. Joseph School. ****You may bring your own outside lunch with you on this day instead of ordering.
