RENWEB UPDATES NEEDED!
SJS Parents:
Due to RenWeb changes over the summer, it’s important that EVERYONE update your webform “Emergency Contacts.”
· Go into your RenWeb account
· Click Webforms
· Click Emergency Contacts
· Update your emergency contacts. You will list (in order) who should be called in case of an emergency. Be sure to include yourself.
· Click SUBMIT (submit is listed all the way down at the bottom of the webform)
This list is also used when checking out.

Family Agreement Form
FAMILY AGREEMENT FORMS
If we haven't received your Family Agreement Form as of yet, one was sent home today with your child. Please be sure to sign and return to school tomorrow, Thursday, August 15th.
PARENTS!
As per the Parent Student Handbook:
1st-8th grade students may have visitors eat lunch with them. However, visitors must be on the Emergency Contact List or a note from the parent may be sent prior to the visit. Visitors may begin having lunch with students after Labor Day.
Fast food cannot be brought into the cafeteria in the paper, container, or bag displaying the name of the restaurant. Carbonated drinks are also not allowed. This includes lunches brought in by parents/family when eating lunch with students.

Calling all St. Joseph Parish families

Let’s join together as one Catholic-Christian family to give our children a prayer-full and God-praising start to their school year!
We will pray the rosary as a group with our life-size rosary.
Pope Francis has said the family is the “greatest treasure of any country,” and urged the faithful to protect and strengthen it.
Please don’t miss it!
We will have rosary pamphlets available. This is an evening for our families and will be very child friendly. Snacks and drinks will be provided after the recitation of the rosary.
RSVP is NOT required, BUT it helps us to know about how many people will attend!

July & August birthdays Free Dress
JULY and AUGUST birthdays will be celebrated Tuesday, August 20th. Students who have a birthday in July or August may wear Free Dress to school. Please see the handbook for Free Dress guidelines. Students will have to call home for a uniform if guidelines are not met. Thank you.

Open House will be on Thursday, August 22nd.

5:45 p.m. - 6:20 p.m.- 1st -5th -visit classrooms
6:30 p.m. - Home and School Meeting in the Gym.
7:05 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. - 6th - 8th grade -visit classrooms.
PICTURES
ALL students will take pictures in their school uniform on Tuesday, August 27th.
Order forms will be sent home with the students next Wednesday.

Volleyball
Sign up sheets were posted in the gym today for volleyball tryouts. If your child is interested in trying out for volleyball, please make sure they sign up by Friday, August 16th. Open to girls grades 5th-8th.

Flag Football
Sign up sheets were posted in the gym today for flag football. If your child is interested in trying out for flag football, please make sure they sign up by Friday, August 16th. Open to boys grades 5th - 8th.
Cross Country
Cross Country flyers are going home today in Wednesday packets. If your child is interested in being a part of the St. Joseph Cross Country Team, please come to the FIRST practice/parent meeting on Monday, August 19 at 6:15 p.m. at the Ponchatoula Recreation Park.They will meet at the pond behind the gym. Your child should have a water bottle, comfortable clothing, and running shoes.
Opened to boys and girls in grades 1st-8th.
Join Us!
If anyone is interested in joining the 4-H Club, the first meeting is on Tuesday, August 27th after school. Anyone in 4th-8th grade is invited to join 4-H. Please email Mrs. Misti Sceroler (msceroler@sjscrusaders.org) and let her know if your child is interested so she can have an idea of how many to plan for.

One of our teachers is in need of empty LARGE Pringles cans for a school project. If you have any, please send them with your child. Thank you in advance for your help!
