Circles of Grace for Parents
It is required each year that the schools and churches of the Diocese offer parents information pertaining to creating safe environments for children. The Diocese provides these flyers for parents to review. The information on the flyer is set by the Office of Child and Youth Protection and changes each year.

Circles of Grace for Students
It is required by the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People that all children enrolled in Catholic Schools and Parishes receive Safe Environment training. The Diocese of Baton Rouge provides such training called Circles of Grace. This lesson will be taught to our Pre-K - 8th grade students on Monday, September 16, 2019 by their Religion teacher.
Parents please take time to review your child’s lesson plan that will be taught in the classroom prior to September 16th by going to:

Special 8 - Week Host Experience Available
BONDING and your school have partnered to provide you with an amazing Opportunity to open your home for just eight, short weeks as a host family for students from Guatemala.
BONDING students, Grades 8-10, arrive October 11 and return home December 8. While in the USA, BONDING students participate in the same activities as their host students and families..it really is as simple as one extra family member for eight weeks.

SJS Parents:
Due to RenWeb changes over the summer, it’s important that EVERYONE update your webform “Emergency Contacts.”
· Go into your RenWeb account
· Click Webforms
· Click Emergency Contacts
· Update your emergency contacts. You will list (in order) who should be called in case of an emergency. Be sure to include yourself.
· Click SUBMIT (submit is listed all the way down at the bottom of the webform)
This list is also used when checking out.

Cafeteria News
As per the Parent Student Handbook:
1st-8th grade students may have visitors eat lunch with them. However, visitors must be on the Emergency Contact List or a note from the parent may be sent prior to the visit.
Fast food cannot be brought into the cafeteria in the paper, container, or bag displaying the name of the restaurant. Carbonated drinks are also not allowed. This includes lunches brought in by parents/family when eating lunch with students.
Forgotten Items
Students should come to school prepared each day with their supplies and arrangements for after school activities. Students will not be allowed to call home for any forgotten items (class materials, books or iPads, after school activity items, etc....) Nor will they be allowed to call home if they need to stay for an after school activity that they forgot to inform their parents about.
