Help us show our appreciation!
October 2nd is National Custodian's Day! We are blessed with the world's greatest custodian, Mr. Charles Hines! We will recognize him at morning assembly on the 2nd. Help us show him the love and appreciation we have for him as you pass him in morning carpool! Thank you!
Grandparents’ Day
SJS Grandparents’ Day is this Friday, September 27th, beginning at 10:00am in the gym.
This event is open to all students in the school. If grandparents are unavailable for any reason, students are welcome to invite a Special Visitor (aunt, uncle, parent, godparent, special family friend, etc.) as a substitute.
It is not required that every student have a grandparent/special visitor at school that day.
If your student does have a grandparent/special visitor that day, the following procedure should be followed:
1.Grandparents/Special Visitors are asked to park in the new church parking lot. They do not have to sign in at the office. The gates will be open for the visitors to get on campus. However, guest will not be allowed on campus until 9:45
2. Grandparents/Special Visitors meet in the gym at 10:00.
3. AFTER the welcome ceremony in the gym, Grandparents/Special Visitors go to the classroom or the designated area to pick up the student/s.
4.ONE designated person (with their photo ID) is to check out the student from the homeroom teacher. They are, at that point, responsible for the student.
5.The student and his/her grandparents/special visitors may take part in a family picnic, pictures, book fair gift certificates, school tour, etc…
6.Student’s attendance will NOT be affected once checked out by visitor. However, they will be considered absent if they do not come to school at all that day.
7. No student will be allowed to check out to a person who has not been designated on the check out form by the parent.

Save Your Pull Tabs
Pre-K is collecting pull tabs once again to help our local Ronald McDonald House! Please help us by collecting pull tabs from beverage cans, vegetable cans, etc. Collecting pull tabs is an easy and fun way to help the House fund various household expenses such as supplementing their food pantry. RMH provides a “home-away-from-home” to families of seriously ill children and provides programs that give comfort, compassion and care to children and their families. RMH keeps families together and near the medical care their children need.
Help us make this a worthwhile project by sending your pull tabs to the office in a ziplock bag or by dropping them into our large collection box in the gym. At the end of our school year, our pull tabs donation will be delivered to the Ronald McDonald House in New Orleans.
Thanks for helping make this a great service project!
UNBOUND COLLECTION REMINDER
NEXT WEDNESDAY IS THE UNBOUND COLLECTION!
For the 2019-2020 school year St. Joseph School will continue its long-standing tradition of supporting and serving those who need a hand-up. One way we do this is through the UNBOUND program. Each month students are asked to bring a donation to school on the specified collection date. Their contributions will be brought forward during the Offertory of the Mass and then forwarded to Unbound. The money that is collected goes to the care and support of the two children that we have chosen to help-Markus, age 14, from India and our new friend, Trey, age 3, from Costa Rica.
The following quote is from the Unbound website. You can learn more about the history of the organization, its goals and impact by going to unbound.org.
