Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary-
The dogma of the Assumption was pronounced by Pope Pius XII in 1950 AND STATes that mary “when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory.” Perhaps the most convincing evidence for this is a lack of physical evidence: the bones of mary are nowhere to be found. In ancient times, the bones of saints and martyrs were closely guarded. With many, there are churches and shrines built over their final resting places. How much more so then would the bones of the mother of god be venerated. Yet no church claims to have them. Why? Because they are nowhere to be found on earth. MARY is now in heaven “exalted by the lord as queen over all things.” (CCC 966)
