RETURN RICE BOWLS
Dear SJS Families,
Thank you for participating in CRS Rice Bowl this Lent and sharing your prayers and gifts with our sisters and brothers around the world. Together, our school is making a difference in the lives of millions of people most in need.
Please return your filled CRS Rice Bowls to school with your child the week of April 24-28.

Just a reminder that tuition is due on Friday, April 28th. Information was sent home in the Wednesday packet.
The fair committee is offering our families the chance to win some time in our VIP Tent during the weekend of the Spring Fair. The tent includes 4 chairs and will be positioned in great view of all the entertainment. The tent will be reserved for the family during the assinged time slot.
The price per chance is $50. Entries must be turned in by Friday, April 21st. The winners will be picked in morning assembly on
Monday, April 24th. To participate you must be a parent or grandparent of a student at SJS.

Saturday, May 6th, 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Spring Fair Fun Run
2023 St. Joseph Catholic School
Spring Fair
1 Mile & 5K Fun Run
Date: Saturday, May 6th, 2023
Location: St. Joseph Catholic School, Ponchatoula, La.
Time: 1 mile fun run at 8:00 a.m. & 5K run at 8:30 a.m.
Sign up: This year all signups will be on Evenbrite! Race cost is $30 per participant. Use the QR code on the form below for the direct link.
Course: The 1 mile and the 5K will be held in the vicinity of St. Joseph Catholic School. Starting line in the front of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Awards: ALL participants in both the 5K and 1 mile run can expect to receive a finisher medal after their event.
Race Day Registration: Race Day registration will start at 7:00 a.m. and will end at 7:30 a.m. for the 1 mile and 8:00 a.m. for the 5K.
Race bib Pick - Up: Race bibs can be picked up the morning of the race begining at 7:00 in front of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The fair committee is offering our students the opportunity to be stage announcers throughout
the weekend of the fair.
The price per chance is $1. Entries must be turned in by Wednesday, April 26". The winners
will be announced at morning assembly on Friday, April 28, We will be pulling for six
winners.

Wine Drive
TO BENEFIT OUR WINE PULL AT THE SPRING FAIR
The Spring Fair Committee is asking for your help to stock the fair Wine Pull. Each family that donates a bottle of wine will receive a
Free Dress Day for their child(ren).
Please follow the criteria below to receive the Free Dress Day. The date of the Free Dress Day will be assigned by school administration.
Can be any type of wine.
Value of the donation must be a minimum of $25.
Bottle of wine must have a tag with the child(ren)'s name and homeroom teachers.
Must be turned into the school office by a parent. Donations can also be dropped off at Paul's Cafe.
Spring Fair Concession Stand

Each year the fair committee requests parents help with items for the sweet booth. After listening to the overwhelming survey responses, the sweet booth will become a Concession Stand. No quanity is too big or too small! Please see the list below of what each grade level is asked to donate.
Pre- Kindergarten: Rice Crispy Treats ( individually wrapped - store bought)
Kindergartern: Kosher Dills ( gallon jar)
1st Grade: Kosher Dills ( gallon jar)
2nd Grade: Variety Sizes of Soft Drinks ( 2-litres, cans, 20 oz bottles, etc.)
3rd Grade: Nuts ( individually wrapped - peanuts, sunflower seeds, etc.)
4th Grade: Mixed Variety Pack of Chips ( 18 count box)
5th Grade: Mixed Variety Pack of Chips ( 18 count box)
6th Grade: Mixed Variety Pack of Chips ( 18 count box)
7th Grade: Full Size Candy Packs ( Skittles, Airheads, Ring Pops, Sour Patch Kids, etc.)
8th Grade: Full Size Candy Packs ( Skittles, Airheads, Ring Pops, Sour Patch Kids, etc.)
We ask that you do not bring chocolate items that melt easily.
Fair weekend is always warm and chocolate does not fair well in our Louisiana heat.
If time is not on your side but wish to help, monetary donations are always appreciated. Those donations can be sent to the office in an envelope labeled "Concession Stand".
We will collect items in the school office on May 1st and 2nd. On May 3rd and 4th we will be collecting items in morning carpool. If your child rides the bus, please send it with him/her and we will collect it before morning assembly. If you have any questions, please email sjsfair@gmail.com or call the school office.

All Weekend Ride Pass
The Fair Committee is pleased to announce the return of GoldStar Amusemnets as our ride company for our 2023 Spring Fair. This year they will have 15+ rides for your enjoyment.
Our session times will be four hours each, except on Sunday. There will always be a session you can buy to get the most value. The sessions will be $30.00 each. The sessions will be:
Friday 4pm- 6pm: SJS Students that purchased the All Weekend Ride Pass ONLY
Friday 6pm-10pm: SJS families and the General Public
Saturday: 10am-2pm; 2pm-6pm; 6pm-11pm
Sunday: 12pm-6pm
The committee will also have a PAY ONE PRICE ALL WEEKEND pass. The pass will be good for the entire fair (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and the cost is $65.00 each, pre-sale. If you want to buy them the weekend of the fair the cost will be $75.00 each.
The pre-sale offer for the “ALL WEEKEND RIDE PASS” is ONLY available until Friday, April 21st 2023. You will be able to redeem your voucher anytime during the fair, but a special line will be set up on Friday from 3pm-4pm where the voucher can be redeemed early. We are NOT pre-selling the individual ride sessions.
Please fill out the form sent home with your student. Return the completed form and payment to the school office in an envelope marked “Ride Pass”. Checks need to be made payable to St. Joseph Home & School.

Altar Server Training
On Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 1:00 pm, there will be registration and initial training for new Altar Servers. Those interested in becoming Altar Servers must be enrolled in at least the 4th grade this fall (born prior to September 30, 2013) and practicing their Catholic faith (Baptized and have received the Sacrament of First Communion). All young Catholics aged from 4th grade through college are welcome. Registration will take place in the narthex of church then training will take place in the Nave. We ask that at least one parent accompany their child; there are registration forms to be completed and also information necessary for parents throughout this initial training. Subsequent training sessions will be coordinated prior to end of this session.
